ORMSKIRK FOOTBALLER ENLISTS IN CANADA

Football followers in Ormskirk and the district will be interested to learn that "Toby" McLoughlin, the former Ormskirk forward, who had been in Canada, for two or three years, has joined the Army in Ontario, being now attached to the Overseas Battalion. Writing to his parents in Elm Place, Bickerstaff. "Toby" states that his job is kept open for him if he has the luck to come back but it will be at least six months before they leave Canada, as their battalion is a new one. In his letter he refers to Jack Ryder, another old Ormskirk footballer.

Private McLoughlin has three brothers already serving in the Army - a truly loyal family.
